Sony Pictures Entertainment

I partnered with my friends at Zuno Studios to take on this project. The goal was to revamp an aging internal system for managing movie and television assets.

The Challenges

Anyone who has redesigned a tool people use daily knows the risk involved. People hate change. They hate it even more when their job depends on it.

We started by interviewing a range of end-users to get their feedback on what worked for them and where there was room for improvement. An added challenge was consolidating multiple systems that did similar things but in different ways which serviced users in different countries.

The complexity we had to manage was staggering. The content alone included multimedia assets for every movie and television show Sony owned. In addition, administrators needed to manage access privileges, user groups, contracts, and a whole host of other things.
