Mustache For Memory is an attempt to honor my father who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2009 by helping others to have a brighter future. There are many promising advances in detecting Alzheimer’s and current research points to a cure in the future. But for those diagnosed today, the conclusion is predictable and inevitable.
Mustache For Memory was created to raise awareness and support for those living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. Supporters are encouraged to draw attention to the cause by either growing a mustache and wearing clothing or accessories with mustache themes. I’ve personally found it to be an effective conversation starter and an ideal opportunity to share information about the charity and issues surrounding Alzheimer’s.
